- New Connections in FME 2023 - Michael Studdert | Every year, FME includes new connections to integrate to different services, and 2023 is no exception. Integrate in new ways with the inclusion of support for: Trimble, Airtable, Microsoft Azure Synapse, Databricks and ND JSON. Continue to improve upon your existing integrations with improved support for Revit, CityGML and ArcGIS Server Feature Services.
- Data Type Assignments - James Botterill | The new Data Type Assignments allow users to define destination schemas centrally in their workflows, instead of on an output-by-output basis. This allows users to additional ways to avoid manually configuring the schema per output, which is typically a time consuming and tedious process. With a centrally defined schema, all outputs in a workflow can adopt the same schema easily, regardless of their output format.
- Conditional and Deployment Parameters - Anthony Hesling | Parameters are crucial for the usability and integration of your workflows, and FME 2023 provides improved and new parameter types to facilitate this. Conditional Visibility allows parameters to be enabled, disabled or hidden based on another parameter, allowing for only the required parameters to be visible. Deployment Parameters allow a new approach for FME Flow to set parameters that are self-describing of the environment and installation.
- Remote Engines - Priyantha Pallegama | FME Flow remote engines allow users to execute FME workflows on remote machines or cloud platforms, providing scalability and parallel processing capabilities. FME Flow remote engines can be run on any type of license (Standard or Dynamic). These engines facilitate seamless integration with existing infrastructure and enable the execution of complex data transformations, translations, and analyses across distributed environments, expanding the capabilities of FME for large-scale data processing tasks to improve efficiency and performance.
- Version Control in FME 2023 - Samuel McDonald | With modern CI/CD and version control practices becoming increasingly more important, FME continues to improve its support of git integration and pipelines. With FME Form's built in visual compare tool, FME can be integrated with your git environment of choice to help streamline version control. And with an improved Command Line Interface for FME Flow, workflows can be deployed with fast and reliable data integration pipelines.
